Jorge Lorenzo spoke to DAZN about the Le Mans GP. The former Spanish rider commented on Sunday’s race and highlighted Jorge Martín’s performance throughout the race.
The Prima Pramac Racing rider was coming off a crash at Jerez and a mistake at this Le Mans GP could cost him the championship lead. Lorenzo stressed the importance of Martín staying on track and managing his race pace very well.
– From Qatar to Le Mans, all the races were spectacular, with lots of emotion. And in Jerez, only Martín’s crash prevented the trio from fighting to the end. But this time the three of them stayed on the bike and we managed to have the best riders, with the best bike, fighting and giving everything until the end. In the end, Jorge won, but Bagnaia or Marc could have won perfectly well.
He went on to say how important it was that Martín hadn’t made any mistakes: ‘A second crash in a row for Martín and losing a big lead would have been a big blow. Staying calm was very difficult and he did it perfectly. Congratulations to Jorge today, which was, of all the races, perhaps the most difficult for him psychologically.
