Loyalty in the Diggs family runs deep. Just ask young Aaiden Diggs, who’s uncle Stefon plays for the Buffalo Bills.
The younger Diggs – whose father Trevon plays for the Cowboys – pulled up to the Pro Bowl to hang out with the AFC’s nominees. Anyone related to Stefon and Trevon has to be brimming with confidence. It’s the rules. Little Aaiden was no different.
He walked right up to New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner and dapped him up like a pro. But Aaiden didn’t just walk up to him for a handshake, he had some business to take care of with the superstar.
Aidan reminded Gardner that the cornerback came after Stefon with some jawing in the Jets-Bills Week 1 matchup.
“You were trying to talk trash about my uncle, I heard you,” Aaiden said.
Immediately, everyone around these two started laughing. They didn’t think that little boy would pack so much sass in that small frame. Everyone was hoping that more was to come, and Aaiden did not disappoint.
“Who your uncle?” Gardner asked, definitely taken aback by the young man’s spunk.
“Stef, and look what happened,” Aaiden responded.
Now the crowd was really into it.
“He scored on you in that Week 1 game,” Aaiden said.
Now, technically, Stefon didn’t score while being covered by Gardner. But he did rack up 10 catches for 162 yards and the touchdown, most of which came against Sauce.
So Aaiden was mostly right, his uncle did get the best of the Jets’ star. That finally got Gardner to concede the argument.
“I don’t remember that, but if you say he did, he did,” Gardner said as he dapped the kid up. “Your uncle good at football.”
Aaiden then eventually admitted that he still thought Gardner was a cool dude, which was very big of him.
But words sometimes aren’t enough to resolve a conflict. Sometimes, you have to settle things on the field.
After this hysterical interaction, Aaiden and Gardner lined up one-on-one to see who’d come out on top. Aaiden toasted Gardner (because he let him, of course), but couldn’t quite reel in the ball.
Aaiden might want to leave the catching up to Uncle Stef. But if Buffalo’s number one wide receiver ever needs someone to take on the haters, little Aaiden will have his back.
