The initial indications regarding Honda’s bike for the 2024 MotoGP season suggest a bike with clear improvements compared to its predecessor. This feeling was corroborated by Lucio Cecchinello, the head of the LCR Honda satellite team, which will have Johann Zarco and Takaaki Nakagami as riders.
The manager told Sky Sport MotoGP that the new RC213V is already an improvement and will continue to be developed, also taking advantage of the concessions: ‘We have a first version for 2024, but they will continue working until the end, just like the other manufacturers. Thanks to the new regulations and concessions, we’ll be able to develop further during the season. The bike has improved in power, but above all in its connection with the throttle as the riders requested. Therefore, it will be more responsive’.
Despite the improvements, Cecchinello said an ideal level has not yet been achieved: ‘The riders asked for less electronic filter when accelerating; now we have a more substantial engine, although according to Zarco, we’re still not at the level where we should be’.
