Adrián Huertas continued his impressive run in the World Supersport Championship with a commanding victory in the first race at Donington Park on Saturday. The Aruba.it Ducati rider maintained his pole position and never looked back.
Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team/Ducati) had a strong start, overtaking Huertas to take the lead. However, Huertas quickly reacted with an attack on the second lap and held onto the lead for the rest of the race.
As the race progressed, Huertas extended his lead while Montella found himself in an exciting battle for second place with Stefano Manzi (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing). Manzi made a decisive move on the penultimate lap, securing second place but had no time to challenge Huertas, who won with a margin of 4.679s. Montella completed the podium in third.
Jorge Navarro (Orelac Racing VerdNatura/Ducati) secured fourth place after a close battle with Valentin Debise (Evan Bros. Yamaha), finishing just 0.238s ahead.
