The 2024 Spanish GP, MotoGP published the news that the event had become the Grand Prix with the highest attendance ever, breaking the previous attendance record but after all… it wasn’t quite like that.
The organization admitted that ‘there was a miscalculation in attendance numbers’ and with the desire to celebrate and ‘eagerness’ experienced in view of the environment lived at the event, ended up publishing incorrect numbers, before the main MotoGP race, on Sunday, and apologized for the ‘mistake’.
Then, after confirming the correct number of people at the event, the Spanish GP still ended up having significant numbers, being the GP with the highest attendance in Jerez for almost a decade: 181 289.
And there were many fans there, and a few million more at home, certainly being delighted by a race that will certainly be among the best ever compared to the duel between Marc Márquez and Pecco Bagnaia, which earned the victory of the current world champion in the category.
The MotoGP caravan now heads to Le Mans, precisely the place with the record for the number of spectators, achieved in 2023: 278 805.
