Davide Brivio had a rare opportunity in recent years, integrating Alpine in Formula 1 from 2021 to 2023. Now, he’s back in MotoGP with a different experience on his resume that he feels has added something to him.
The new team manager of Trackhouse Racing told the press about his plans after leaving Alpine: ‘I was kind of waiting, trying to take holidays. But honestly I didn’t want to have long holidays, let’s say. I was kind of waiting and see’.
Regarding his years in F1, Brivio commented: ‘With Alpine I had a great experience. I’m really, really, pleased of the opportunity that I had to see the Formula 1 world and to see how such a big organization works, how thousands of people interact with each other. For sure that was something that I was curious about and has been very interesting. I’m glad I’ve done that and I think also coming back in the MotoGP probably I have also in some sense a different mindset or a different approach to some problems. I don’t know, I still have to figure out, but I understand that there are always problems everywhere and maybe now I’m more calm’.
The Italian continued: ‘Of course coming here is a new team, there are still many things to be organized. And there are things that need to be set. But, okay, step by step we will fix. It’s a hard job, but as I said I learned a lot, professionally has been great. I’m really, really glad that I had this opportunity, otherwise I would have missed it somehow’.
Finally, Brivio emphasized that all forms of motorsport have something interesting: ‘If you have a passion for racing and for motorsport, all motorsport has something great. If you go in endurance there is something great, if you go in motocross there is something great, if you go in rally – I’m a big fan of WRC – there is something great. So from every motorsport you can pick up something, it’s interesting to have other experiences’.
