Ai Ogura was on another level and today he managed to be the fastest on track in the intermediate class once again, something that happens for the first time this year, with the best time in the Moto2 qualification, and the #79 of MT Helmets – MSI thus secured pole position at Silverstone.
Q2 started with Ai Ogura setting the best time on the first fast lap, with 2:03.097s, a difference of 0.052s over Celestino Vietti and 0.072s over Jake Dixon, but the Japanese improved his next record right after and was the first to enter the 2:02 range, with 2:02.940s.
The next to enter within that mark was Arón Canet, but staying 0.052s behind #79, even before the riders headed for the usual pit stop.
After this ended, the riders returned to the asphalt but until the end, there were few points of interest, with the highlight being Diogo Moreira, who managed to complete a lap in 2:03.123s, which meant the third fastest time and provisionally a place on the front row of the grid.
