Contrary to the usual, the Superbike World Championship will have this weekend a slightly different organization in Portimão, something that pleases Alex Lowes, who is preparing to attack the asphalt with confidence, on a track that he sees as suitable for his bike.
The Kawasaki rider is currently fourth on the standings, and showed his confidence for this next round of the world championship: ‘Portimao is always a fantastic race circuit to ride a great event for WorldSBK. This coming weekend we are racing in the evening which is going to make it even more special. It’s a track that suits our Ninja ZX-10RR and one I feel comfortable on too’.
As for his goals, these are clear, just like the wish to do well and work hard right from the outset:
– The last section is one of my favourites in the calendar. My target is to work hard with the crew on Friday to check our potential during FP1 and FP2 before making realistic goals for the races but we have to be trying to fight for the podium again. I’m excited to get back into action.
The race Superpole race on saturday will take place at 14h45 (local time), and the Race 1 at 18h00. On sunday, the Race 2 will be also at 18h00.
