In recent days, rumors have emerged about Alexander Albon receiving a three-year contract proposal from Red Bull in Formula 1 starting from 2025 – after also being mentioned as one of the possible options for Mercedes. However, Williams has the driver under contract until the end of next year and does not plan to let him go.
Team principal James Vowles was clear in his statements to L’Equipe: ‘Alex is contracted with Williams until the end of 2025. It’s not something I have made public until now because I didn’t feel the need to. But our job at Williams is to create an environment that is worthy of someone of Alex’s caliber’.
According to the British team principal, the idea is to have a long-lasting relationship with Albon, who has been the main figure for Williams on the track: ‘We want our journey together in this team to be long. We have to show the world that we are not the old Williams, that we don’t look back, that we are constantly moving forward’.
