Fernando Alonso is confident that Max Verstappen will remain at Red Bull in the 2025 Formula 1 season, dismissing any speculation about his future. Verstappen and Red Bull have formed a strong partnership since the introduction of ground effect cars in 2022, with three wins in the first four races of this season. However, rumors have emerged suggesting that Verstappen may leave the team due to the ongoing investigation into Red Bull boss Christian Horner. Verstappen’s father, Jos, has expressed concerns about Horner’s impact on the team, while Verstappen himself has emphasized the importance of Red Bull consultant Helmut Marko. Despite the tension within Red Bull, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has named Verstappen as his top choice to replace Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari. Alonso, who has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Verstappen, has committed his future to Aston Martin until 2026. When asked about Verstappen’s influence on the driver market, Alonso believes it is highly unlikely that the three-time champion will leave Red Bull. He prefers to focus on his own race and not get involved in rumors and speculation. Alonso recently signed a multi-term extension with Aston Martin, expressing his happiness with the team and their development plans for the AMR24 car. Although Aston Martin has dropped to fifth place in the standings this season, Alonso is optimistic about their progress and the goal of competing at a higher level.
