Álvaro Bautista is in the final year of his contract with Aruba.it Ducati in the World Superbike Championship. After winning the championship in 2022 and 2023, he is once again in the hunt for the title this year, currently leading the standings.
Despite new minimum weight rules, which significantly affect him, the Spaniard continues to show strong competitiveness against formidable rivals like Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW) and teammate Nicolò Bulega.
However, approaching 40 years old and with a long career in motorcycling, Bautista may be considering his future options beyond continuing with Aruba.it Ducati, including the possibility of retirement.
Speaking to the championship’s official website, Bautista hinted that he might make a decision in the coming weeks, stating: ‘I’m just focusing on this. My priority is to think about the Misano [June 14 to 16] race and to do our best. I think after Misano I will take a decision’.
