The Cannes Film Festival in France has accustomed cinephiles to the most surprising “looks” of movie stars and more. This time BMW surprised everyone with a unique XM, named Mystique Allure, lined with velvet.
Inspired by the British supermodel, Naomi Campbell, this purple velvet BMW XM is the result of a unique partnership between the German brand and the Cannes Film Festival.
The exterior of the BMW XM Mystique Allure showcases a deeply saturated ultramarine velvet, Naomi Campbell’s favorite color, while the lower part of the body shines with shimmering “Frozen” metallic sequins in shades ranging from intense violet to deep ultramarine.
As could not be otherwise, the XM interior also features purple velvet upholstery, a color that extends to the door panels and the illuminated headliner.
In addition, German composer Hans Zimmer, who teamed up with BMW to produce the sound effects for electrified models, created an exclusive sound for the 100% electric mode of the plug-in hybrid SUV.
What doesn’t change is the powertrain of this XM Hybrid, which boasts 653 hp and 800 Nm of torque, which in the XM Label Red variant can reach 748 hp and 1000 Nm.
