It is called Amber, it is the first prototype of the 100% electric Russian car for the masses… and style is not its strong point.
According to the experts at “The Autopian”, this is a project developed from scratch at the Moscow Polytechnic University, for the creation of a zero-emission vehicle with an affordable positioning for the Russian market.
The idea is to help democratize battery technology in the country, as an alternative to combustion engines. But, starting (and ending!) with the presentation, Amber is far from appealing.
According to “World News Today”, the vehicle will use the fewest number of components from abroad, meaning that both the engine and the batteries of Amber would be domestically manufactured. Production would take place at the Avtotor facility in Kaliningrad Oblast, starting from 2025.
No further details of Amber are known at this time. Except that it is a strong candidate for the title of the ugliest electric car in the world.
And you, what other models would you include in this list of uninspired designs?
