Last week, Andrea Dovizioso injured himself while practicing motocross, sustaining multiple fractures. Currently, he is hospitalized in Sassuolo and has already undergone surgery.
The former MotoGP rider shared an update on his condition by writing on social media: ‘On Thursday, I underwent a lengthy but completely successful surgery to repair a broken collarbone and reconstruct the acromioclavicular ligament, expertly handled by Dr. Giuseppe Porcellini and his team’.
The next phase will consist of rehabilitation with physiotherapists. Dovizioso admitted that the road ahead will be tough but made sure to thank everyone for the support he has received:
– Now, it’s time for rehabilitation with Fabrizio Borra at the Fisiology Center Forlì. They are already expecting me. The journey ahead will be challenging, but I want to express my gratitude once again to everyone who has supported me. It truly energises me.
Finally, the Italian made sure to assure that he will provide more updates in the coming days and emphasized the importance of the messages he has received: ‘I am reading all your messages, and they mean a lot’.
