With Cal Crutchlow still sidelined due to injury, Yamaha has selected Andrea Dovizioso to take part in a private test at Misano tomorrow and Wednesday – with the Italian temporarily stepping into the test rider role.
The British rider has faced complications in his recovery from hand surgery in May, causing him to miss several commitments with Yamaha, including tests and wildcard entries in the Italian and British GPs.
Recently, Yamaha conducted a preliminary test with Dovizioso, confirming that the rider is still in tune with the YZR-M1 – the bike he rode during his final two MotoGP seasons in 2021 and 2022.
As a result, Dovizioso will be in action this week during the two-day private test at Misano on August 20 and 21. Unlike the wildcard at the British GP, Remy Gardner was not chosen for this test.
