Andrea Iannone made his debut in the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) this year and, after a promising start, he dreams of securing a factory Ducati if he continues in 2025. The rider is currently with Team GoEleven and has climbed the podium four times, showing good form despite being out of competition for four years due to a doping case.
The only possibility for the Italian to get a factory bike in the official Aruba.it Ducati team would be the departure or retirement of Álvaro Bautista, as Nicolò Bulega is not expected to leave. Another scenario would be having a factory bike in a satellite team, similar to the Bonovo Action BMW riders.
After being the best independent rider in the Superpole race at Misano, Iannone expressed to Crash.net that he feels he can ask for a factory bike:
– I only had four factory bikes ahead of me and some factory bikes behind me. I am certainly not happy. I want more. But I watched the races on television for several years. The only thing I could possibly ask from Ducati is a factory bike for next year. I can’t ask for more.
«The Maniac» even considers himself special to Ducati: ‘For this year, I can’t ask for more than this. For Ducati I think I’m a special one. I am lucky at this moment. I came back because of Ducati, because Ducati wanted me. Gigi [Dall’Igna, General Manager] helped me return, and I am in this situation. We need to improve, I want to improve. But I think it’s step by step’.
