Jack Miller is at the end of his contract and hasn’t ruled out moving to Red Bull GasGas Tech3, which would pave the way for Pedro Acosta at Red Bull KTM. However, continuing with the Austrian manufacturer is not a certainty at this stage.
There aren’t many more competitive seats available. Some are with Aprilia and Ducati, but both have higher-priority options. The Australian, for his part, has struggled to show consistent performance in line with expectations since joining KTM last year.
Could his future involve leaving, rather than moving from the official team to the satellite GasGas Tech3 team? There is speculation that this could happen, with Honda being a potential destination. Joan Mir is at the end of his contract with the Japanese manufacturer, and after two very challenging seasons with a poorly performing bike, he might call it quits.
Louis Suddaby, one of the commentators on the official championship website, stated during the first free practice session of the Italian GP: ‘There are reports potentially that Jack Miller could be an option for Honda next season if Joan Mir were to depart. I’m not sure whether that would be the right move for Jack Miller at this stage of his career, but that’s a decision for him to make and nobody else’.
In his early years in MotoGP, between 2015 and 2017, Miller rode Honda bikes and secured his first win at the Dutch GP in 2016 on one. However, he was never part of the factory team, starting with LCR Honda before moving to Marc VDS.
