Anthony Redmond experienced a horrific crash during the Isle of Man TT last Tuesday, during the warm-up lap for the first Supertwin race. The incident occurred in the Bungalow section of the circuit, and despite multiple injuries, the rider is not in life-threatening condition.
However, his wife, Shelley, took to social media to reveal some details, admitting that Redmond was fortunate not to suffer a more severe outcome:
– Following Tony’s off in the warm-up lap on Tuesday, we wanted to let everyone know that he’s «okay» and very very lucky to still be there. The injuries we know of so far are as listed below… broken jaw, broken teeth, broken shoulder, broken vertebrae, fluid on the lungs, multiple rib fractures, lacerated kidney, compound fractures to the left leg, both ankles shattered, ligament damage to the legs. Someone up there was looking after Tony on Tuesday night and we are so very grateful taht he’s still there.
According to Shelley, the recovery will be a lengthy process: ‘It’s gonna be a long long road to recovery but we’ll get there!!! Thank you to everyone for all of your messages. I am sure Tony will get back to everyone himself once he’s able to’.
