Aprilia has made visible progress in MotoGP, managing to win two races in the last season. However, they are still not in a position to compete for titles, and that’s where they aim to be – establishing themselves as a credible alternative to Ducati, especially when the rider market might be particularly active for 2025.
The manufacturer from Noale is closely monitoring contract developments, with many expiring at the end of this year – including those of their riders, Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales. The intention is to keep them, but Aprilia Racing’s CEO, Massimo Rivola, admitted to SPEEDWEEK.com that they’ll be attentive and aim to position the team as an alternative to Ducati:
– At the moment, I would like to stay like this because I am convinced that stability is the path to performance, but let’s see what real opportunities arise. I don’t know right now, and I’m not seriously thinking about it, I just want to stay vigilant. The first four months of the year will be busy for everyone in my position. The goal, of course, is to be a real alternative to Ducati. That’s why we need to be better, we need a faster bike, and we need to show that we are strong.
