It was on July 26, 2009 that Max Biaggi, at the Brno circuit, took the first and unforgettable victory for the Aprilia RSV4 in the World Superbike Championship. Nobody could have known it at the time, but that was the first episode in a story that has become legendary. It was the start of one of the most successful stories ever for a single model in the world’s most important factory derivatives championship, with an extraordinary collection of seven world titles (3 Rider and 4 Manufacturer), 44 wins and 102 podiums.
Today, Aprilia celebrates this historic day for the brand by bringing back the iconic livery that symbolizes the spectacular sporting debut of the RSV4 from the V4 range: the RSV4 Factory superbike and the hypernaked Tuono V4 Factory. In this special version, the RSV4 Factory and Tuono V4 Factory also come standard with carbon front brake air intakes and a carbon front mudguard. The model’s progressive numbering appears on the fuel tank.
This is how the special edition numbered SE-09 SBK was born, unveiled for the first time in public during the weekend of the MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
It was Aprilia Racing factory riders Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales, current protagonists of the world’s leading motorcycle championship at the wheel of the Noale RS-GP prototypes, who christened the RSV4 Factory and Tuono V4 Factory in this new, exciting and evocative version.
The Aprilia V4 Factory SE-09 SBK stands out for its black-dominated paintwork, with the characteristic red and white details on the upper fairing, grips, fuel tank and rear fairing, just like the RSV4 that surprised the world on its WSBK debut. An unmistakable blend in its linear simplicity, which brings the Noale brand and its legendary sporting history to the mind of any motorcycling enthusiast.
