Bob Bell, former technical director of the Renault Sport F1 team, has been appointed as the new Executive Technical Director of the Aston Martin Formula 1 team. This comes after his departure from Alpine, where he had been serving as a consultant since 2018. Bell has a long history with the Enstone team, having been associated with them on three separate occasions. He played a key role as Technical Director during Fernando Alonso’s championship-winning seasons and was instrumental in Mercedes’ dominant performance in 2014. In his new role, Bell will report directly to Aston Martin Team Principal Mike Krack and will be responsible for overseeing the team’s technical, engineering, and performance functions. Krack expressed his excitement about the appointment, stating that Bell’s experience and track record in the sport will be invaluable in helping the team progress. Bell, in turn, is thrilled to join Aston Martin Aramco and impressed by the team’s progress in recent years. He is eager to contribute to the team’s journey and work alongside the talented technical leaders in Silverstone. He believes in the team’s hunger and determination and is motivated by the scale and ambition of the project. Alongside Krack and the rest of the team, Bell is looking forward to taking further steps in their quest for success.
