Autoeuropa, in Palmela, resumed normal production on Monday, with the reinstatement of 19 weekly shifts, after a forced shutdown from September 11 to October 2, due to the lack of components from a supplier in Slovenia.
Initially, the company expected to resume activity on November 12, but the Volkswagen group has since secured the supply of the missing part from a Spanish and a Chinese supplier, allowing for the partial resumption of production on October 2nd.
The production shutdown at the Volkswagen factory in Palmela also affected thousands of workers from supplier companies, including the workers from about twenty companies located in the Autoeuropa Industrial Park, some of which are completely dependent on the Volkswagen factory’s production.
