In 2023, David Alonso had an outstanding debut season in Moto3. He was the top rookie last year with four wins, establishing himself as one of the young talents to watch for the future.
The Colombian, who finished third in the championship last year, now aims to do more and contend for the category’s title. He sees this goal as achievable this year, as he said to El Colombiano: ‘In 2024, my goal is to fight for my dreams, which is to become world champion, and, well, I feel it’s a realistic goal’.
Alonso will benefit from stability, remaining with the GasGas Aspar Team. Ahead of him in 2023 were Jaume Masiá and Ayumu Sasaki, both moving up to Moto2. However, there will be no shortage of competition, with experienced riders continuing in Moto3 and new talents debuting, such as last year’s FIM JuniorGP champion and Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup winner, Ángel Piqueras.
