The BMW will once again be officially represented in this year’s Macau GP program, scheduled for November 18 and 19 – four years later, with absences since 2020 due to the pandemic. The BMW M Team WRT and ROWE Racing will be involved in the FIA GT World Cup.
For Team WRT, the M4 GT3 will be driven by Sheldon van der Linde – a newcomer to the Guia Circuit – with the colors of the oil company Shell. Augusto Farfus will pilot for ROWE Racing and seeks to repeat the victory of 2018 wearing a traditional team livery.
The director of BMW M Motorsport, Andrea Roos, stated: ‘It is fantastic to finally return to Macau this year, for the first time since the pandemic. […]. This will also be the BMW M4 GT3’s first participation in the Guia Circuit. However, over the past two years, the car has shown that it has what it takes to win on any type of track. ROWE Racing and BMW M Team WRT are among the best GT teams in the world and both have a lot of experience in Macau. The same can definitely be said about Augusto Farfus as a driver. I am sure that he will once again display his class, as well as be able to offer valuable advice to Sheldon van der Linde in his debut in Macau. Augusto’s tips, the support from BMW M Team WRT, and Sheldon’s remarkable talent will ensure that he quickly adapts to a new circuit for him. I am confident in that’.
