The global ambassador of BMW M Motorsport, Samantha Tan, will make her debut in the GT America series this weekend in Long Beach. Tan, who co-owns a racing team with her father, will be driving the ST Racing BMW M4 GT4 #38. This will be her first time driving a GT4 car since 2021.
Founded in 2017, Samantha Tan Racing has achieved great success in various racing championships. They secured back-to-back Team titles in the Pirelli World Challenge and Pirelli GT4 America series. Tan also had success in the overall championship of the 24H series in 2021 and made a successful transition to GT3 racing in 2022.
In 2022, Samantha Tan Racing secured the overall victory for the new BMW M4 GT3 at the 12 Hours of Mugello. They also won the final round of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup in Barcelona, claiming their first victory for the Ferrari 296 GT3.
For the 2024 season, Tan will continue in her role as ambassador for BMW M Motorsport. She will return to GT4 racing after a successful period in GT3 racing, where she achieved five consecutive podiums in last year’s Pro-AM series with co-driver Neil Verhagen.
In the opening round of the 2024 GT World Challenge America season, Samantha Tan Racing secured four podiums in their class with their two cars at Sonoma Raceway. The GT America series, where Tan will make her debut, will take place from April 19-21 and will support the third round of the NTT IndyCar series.
