One key performance metric in MotoGP is speed – both average and top speed. In the French GP, despite not being the most competitive manufacturer, KTM led in this aspect with Brad Binder. Conversely, Miguel Oliveira recorded one of the lowest speeds in the race at Le Mans.
With an average speed of 322.9 km/h over the five highest top speeds, Binder (Red Bull KTM) was the leader in both average and top speed – reaching 324.8 km/h, a figure matched by Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati).
In third place for top speed was Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) with 323.7 km/h. In terms of the average of the five best top speeds, the Spanish rider was second, recording 322.3 km/h. Four more riders surpassed the 320 km/h average – Enea Bastianini (Ducati), Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia), Álex Rins, and Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha).
Despite being the winner, Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) was far from being one of the fastest: 319 km/h in top speed and 319 km/h as the average of his five best top speeds.
On the opposite end of the table, the slowest at the French GP was Johann Zarco (LCR Honda) – with a top speed of 315.5 km/h and an average speed of 315 km/h. Just ahead of him was Augusto Fernández (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM).
