Bridgestone was not successful in the selection process for the exclusive tire supplier of Formula 1 between 2025 and 2027 (or 2028, depending on the exercise of the renewal option with Pirelli). However, they do not lose interest in returning in the future.
The Japanese tire manufacturer issued a statement expressing their interest: ‘F1 is the most prestigious global motorsport platform and Bridgestone has studied F1 as one of several options to support its global premium motorsport strategy. Bridgestone has communicated sincerely and continuously with the FIA and F1 about the upcoming tire tender period for F1 and proposed innovative advanced technologies and sustainable initiatives’.
To return to F1, Bridgestone may have to wait almost 20 years since their departure: the last time they supplied tires was in 2010, but the contract now signed by F1 with Pirelli is expected to extend until 2028, so a potential new supplier will only enter in 2029… if the Milanese company is not chosen again.
