BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of electrified vehicles, has announced that it has chosen the Geneva International Motor Show, which takes place from February 26th to March 3rd, for the debut of its first plug-in hybrid model in Europe, featuring Super Dual Mode (DM) technology.
This is the Seal U DM-i, a PHEV variant of the 100% electric SUV that will arrive in the national market at the end of the first semester.
It is known that the plug-in hybrid variant uses a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, producing 109 hp, which combines with a 197 hp electric motor powered by an 18.3 kWh battery, allowing a 100% electric range of up to 110km. In addition, the Seal U DM-i can be equipped with an optional 26.6 kWh battery, providing an electric range of 150 km.
In addition to the plug-in hybrid version of the Seal U, BYD will also showcase the updated Tang, the impressive 7-seater all-electric SUV, as well as the U8, a luxury SUV from the YangWang sub-brand, and the N7, a new 100% electric model from the premium Denza sub-brand.
