For the second time in 2023, Collin Veijer will start from pole position in Moto3. The Dutch rider was the strongest in Saturday’s qualifying for the Valencia GP.
Several riders had their initial laps canceled due to yellow flags, with Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) being the fastest among those with valid times. José Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo) was second, 0.324s behind.
Within the last five minutes, Veijer surpassed his teammate Sasaki to take the provisional pole position, while Ivan Ortolá (Angeluss MTA Team/KTM) climbed to third.
No one managed to outpace the top two until the end, with Veijer securing pole position 0.048s ahead of Sasaki. Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo) secured third place, with Joel Kelso (CFMoto Racing PrüstelGP) in fourth after being the fastest in the practices. Reigning champion Jaume Masiá (Leopard Racing/Honda) will start from eighth place.
