After poor results in recent years, Honda has access to the highest level of development concessions in the 2024 MotoGP season. This includes the freedom to test, introduce developments on the bike, or make wildcard appearances. Stefan Bradl is currently the test rider.
The German told SPEEDWEEK.com that the plan was affected by the existing benefits: ‘Concessions had a huge impact on our testing plan’.
Regarding how much he will ride throughout 2024, Bradl explained: ‘It all comes down to the question: how many spare tires do we have? How many tests will Repsol Honda carry out? That’s where my time on the bike comes from, but there will definitely be more tests than in the past, and spread across more different tracks’.
The concession rules provide 270 tyres for testing to Honda, among all the riders who participate in official or private tests.
