Continental took advantage of its presence at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, USA, to unveil the world’s first touch screen made of crystal for multimedia systems in cars, produced in collaboration with Swarovski Mobility.
The 10” screen with micro-LED technology allows, according to Continental, unprecedented levels of brightness and contrast, benefiting from the use of backlit pixels.
The screen, with an elegant image and unique design, is suspended in a crystal body that creates the illusion of it floating and allows the possibility of viewing the central console behind the screen.
“With the Crystal Center Display as a key component, we want to create an innovative focal point for future premium vehicles that grabs attention and evokes emotions. In this way, we are moving away from a screen that only displays information and creating a highly personalized experience for the user,” said Boris Mergell, Head of User Experience (UX) at Continental.
