Steph Curry Drops 60 Points in Loss to Hawks
In a stunning performance on Saturday night, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors showed why he is a superstar. The future Hall of Famer scored an incredible 60 points against the Atlanta Hawks. Curry was unstoppable, shooting 22-for-38 from the floor and 10-for-23 from beyond the arc.
However, despite Curry’s incredible performance, his teammates failed to provide much support. The Warriors ultimately fell to the Hawks in a heartbreaking overtime loss, with a final score of 141-134.
This loss adds to the disappointment of the Warriors’ season, as they now hold a record of 21-25. It seems that the 2023-24 campaign is only getting worse for Curry and his team.
Following the game, Curry expressed his frustration with another loss. “You can describe it however you want,” he said. Clearly, Curry’s 60-point performance was not enough to secure a victory.
Curry’s incredible display of talent did not go unnoticed. The Athletic described it as one of the biggest wasted performances in Curry’s career. Despite averaging 28.1 points per game and shooting impressively from the floor and beyond the arc, Curry’s efforts are not being fully capitalized on due to the struggles of his teammates, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins.
With the Warriors continuing to struggle, it is speculated that the team may make significant moves before the NBA trade deadline on February 8. It remains to be seen if the Warriors’ management is willing to shake things up in order to salvage their season in the highly competitive Western Conference.
As the season progresses, only time will tell if the Warriors can turn things around. If they fail to make any changes, it could result in a disappointing end to the season for Curry and his team.
