Daniel Holgado was the leader in the first practice session of the Moto3 Valencia GP. The best time came in the final moments of this morning’s session at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit.
At the opening of the last round of the year, Ryusei Yamanaka (Valresa GasGas Aspar) was the leader after the initial flying laps, but he was soon overtaken by his teammate David Alonso before Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3) took the lead for the first time.
Changes at the top of the table were constant: a total of 16 riders led until, after 17 minutes, Alonso managed to hold the first position for a longer period, for about nine minutes.
He was overtaken by Holgado, and despite his reaction, it was the Spaniard who imposed himself with a series of two fast laps at the end. Holgado beat Alonso by 0.401s, while the champion Jaume Masiá (Leopard Racing/Honda) finished third. Taiyo Furusato (Honda Team Asia) and Yamanaka completed the top five.
