The battle went down to the wire in the first race of the World Supersport 300 championship at Assen. Daniel Mogeda clinched victory in a thrilling race filled with ups and downs, where the unpredictable weather conditions added to the challenge and made the outcome uncertain.
Jeffrey Buis, competing on home turf for Freudenberg KTM-Paligo Racing, made a strong start from tenth on the grid and led at the end of the first lap. However, he suffered a crash on the third lap, also involving José Julio García from Kove. The incidents early in the race led to a red flag being waved. Buis was examined and declared unfit due to a concussion, requiring hospitalization.
When the race resumed, Loris Veneman of MTM Kawasaki took the lead for the next five laps until being overtaken by Mogeda of Team#109 Retro Traffic Kawasaki on the second lap. However, Mogeda faced fierce competition from a group of 16 riders all vying for the lead.
Galang Hendra Pratama from ProGP NitiRacing led at the start of the final lap, but it was Mogeda who made a decisive move in the last corner to secure the victory. He crossed the finish line just 0.083 seconds ahead of Unai Calatayud from ARco Sash MotoR University Team riding a Yamaha. Iñigo Iglesias from Fusport-RT Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki completed the podium, followed by his teammate Petr Svoboda. Veneman rounded out the top five finishers.
