Danilo Petrucci has his participation in the next round of the World Superbike Championship at risk. The Barni Spark Racing Team rider suffered a fall while training in motocross and will undergo surgery.
Following Andrea Dovizioso, it was Petrux who got injured in this discipline. According to the team, the Italian suffered fractures in his right clavicle and jaw and will indeed need surgery.
The crash occurred at the Cingoli circuit about a week before the Assen round (April 19 to 21). There are still no details about when the operation will take place or what the recovery time will be.
It is certain that participation in Assen seems practically impossible, considering the short time until this round and the locations of the fractures. After that, Petrucci will have almost two months to recover until Misano, scheduled for June 14 to 16.
