Davide Brivio’s departure from the Alpine Formula 1 team was announced this Tuesday, where he had been since 2021. Speculation suggests an imminent return to MotoGP, but as of now, there is nothing official.
The Italian, renowned for his work with Yamaha and Suzuki in MotoGP, confirmed that he left the French team of his own wish: ‘I am grateful to Alpine for accommodating my wish to pursue other opportunities which may (and I hope that they will) arise in the future’.
Rumors point towards Repsol Honda as Brivio’s likely destination—a time when the Japanese constructor needs significant changes and progress. European manufacturers don’t seem to require new leaders for their respective factory teams, and Yamaha also appears to have a solid structure despite recent results.
