Trackhouse Racing faces one of the most special rounds this weekend in their debut season in MotoGP: the Grand Prix of the Americas, where they compete at home in the United States of America – specifically in Austin.
The beginning of the year wasn’t the best for the newest team in the paddock. Miguel Oliveira was the only rider to finish the races, placing 15th in Qatar and 9th in Portugal. However, he is still far from reaching the potential believed to exist. On the other side of the garage, Raúl Fernández failed to finish the main races and is yet to be classified in the championship.
Davide Brivio, team principal, emphasized in a press release that Oliveira is becoming more accustomed to the 2024 bike, and it’s important to maintain the trajectory to achieve the results believed to be possible:
– We are very excited about our first race in the USA, as Trackhouse, America’s MotoGP team. Looking forward to this weekend in Austin, Miguel is getting more used to the 2024 bike and it is important that we are continuing to adapt and for us to find a good base setting for him. He has not had the results that we know he can achieve – the results that are matching our potential.
Regarding Fernández, the Italian commented: ‘Raúl, after two races with results that we were really not expecting, is getting more and more comfortable so we will be looking to try and capitalize on what we have built so far, in the first two races. We cannot forget that he missed most of the winter testing and there is a lot to come from him’.
