VR46 Ducati rider Fabio Di Giannantonio was the fastest rider during the one-day MotoGP season test at Jerez. He clocked a lap time of 1:36.405s during his 70-lap session. Aprilia’s Maverick Vinales finished in second place, just 0.087s behind Di Giannantonio. Franco Morbidelli, who is still adapting to the Ducati Desmosedici GP24 bike, finished in third place with a lap time of 1:36.527s after completing 82 laps. Francesco Bagnaia, winner of the Spanish Grand Prix, secured the fourth fastest time, while Marc Marquez finished in fifth place. KTM’s Brad Binder finished in sixth, followed by Aprilia’s Aleix Espargaro in seventh. Alex Marquez, Enea Bastianini, and Jorge Martin completed the top-10. The Yamaha duo, Alex Rins and Fabio Quartararo, tested a revised M1 and together completed 157 laps. Rins was the faster of the two, finishing in 14th place with a lap time of 1:37.024s. Raul Fernandez had the opportunity to try out the Aprilia RS-GP24 for the first time with Trackhouse Racing and achieved the 12th fastest time. Honda’s performance was disappointing compared to other manufacturers, with Takaaki Nakagami being the leading rider for the Japanese brand in 16th place.
