Ana Carrasco achieved her first victory in the Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR) this Saturday. The first race at Donington Park was intense, featuring a fierce battle among four riders right until the end.
Carrasco (Evan Bros. Yamaha) secured pole position but was overtaken by María Herrera (Klint Forward) at the start. The two Spaniards then began an intense duel, pulling away from the rest of the field along with Beatriz Neila (Ampito Pata Prometeon Yamaha) and Sara Sánchez (511 Terra&Vita Racing Team).
The lead alternated between Carrasco and Herrera, but on the final lap, Neila took second place after setting the fastest lap. However, Sánchez executed a double overtake to move into second, relegating Herrera to fourth.
At the front, Carrasco managed to create a gap and secured the victory with a 0.511s lead. Neila reclaimed second place from Sánchez, with the two separated by just 0.215s. Herrera finished fourth, only 0.164s off the podium, followed by Roberta Ponziani (Yamaha Motoxracing), who rounded out the top five.
