The most sought-after seat in the MotoGP paddock for 2025 currently belongs to Enea Bastianini. However, the rider’s contract is set to expire, and two strong contenders are eyeing this valuable spot – championship leader Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) and Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati), who is currently third in the standings.
The Italian said in a press conference this Thursday: ‘I know this is probably the most difficult decision for Ducati at the moment, because we are the moment in the top four in the championship. Pecco [Bagnaia] already has the contract’.
Bastianini then said: ‘The decision can be difficult, but at the moment my chances are not bad. Ducati is so fast in all the tracks and also has improved compared to last year; every year we have something more’.
Despite believing he’ll stay in his current seat, the #23 is also aware that he faces strong rivals: ‘I can be a factory rider also for the next year, but I also know the speed of other riders like Jorge or Marc, and it will be complicated. I’m confident to stay here, but let’s see’.
