Enea Bastianini entered MotoGP in 2021 with Avintia and has been riding Ducati bikes ever since, culminating in his arrival at the factory team this year.
His current contract expires at the end of next season, as do many others in the paddock… including Jack Miller’s with KTM. Carlo Pernat, Bastianini’s manager, hasn’t ruled out a move to the Austrians: ‘KTM is a possibility for us’, he said to SPEEDWEEK.com.
KTM has many young talents to promote to MotoGP and to replace Miller if they see it as the right path – this year the manufacturer struggled to accommodate rookie Pedro Acosta, ending up sidelining Pol Espargaró at GasGas Tech3.
As for Bastianini, he’s certain of a winning bike at Ducati, but his spot is highly desired – starting with this year’s runner-up, Jorge Martín. Despite the injuries that affected him in 2023, the Italian showed potential, especially winning the Malaysian GP.
