The average weekly price calculated by the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) registered a decrease of 2.1% for gasoline and 1.1% for diesel, the most used fuel in Portugal.
According to the ERSE report released this Monday, the efficient price experienced an update, “taking into account the weekly variation of international quotations for simple gasoline 95 by – 3.4% and for simple diesel by – 0.5%”.
Therefore, “for the week of May 13 to 19, the Efficient Price before taxes is €0.865 per liter for simple gasoline 95 and €0.842 for simple diesel. After taxes, the Efficient Price amounts to €1.775 per liter for simple gasoline 95, and €1.581 for simple diesel”.
It is worth remembering that the efficient price “is an average weekly price estimated by the ERSE and results from the sum of the following components: fuel prices in international reference markets and their respective maritime freights, primary logistics, including strategic reserves and security of the National Petroleum System, additional costs for the incorporation of biofuels, and the retail component plus the respective taxes”.
Regarding the previous week, the report states that “it was found that the average of the Public Sale Prices advertised on the signs, and reported in the Single Energy Counter, was 1.9 cents per liter above the Efficient Price, for that week, in the case of regular gasoline 95, and 4.9 cents above in the case of regular diesel”.
In percentage terms, “regular gasoline 95 was advertised on the signs 1.1% above the Efficient Price and regular diesel was advertised 3% above”, as stated in the ERSE report.
