The Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) revealed on Monday that the average weekly price of gasoline and diesel decreased by 0.6%.
According to the ERSE report, the efficient price was updated, “taking into account the weekly variation of international quotations for regular gasoline by -1.4% and for regular diesel, the most used fuel in Portugal, by -1.3%”.
Therefore, “for the week of May 20 to 26, the Efficient Price before taxes is €0.856 per liter for regular gasoline and €0.834 for regular diesel. After taxes, the Efficient Price is €1.764 per liter for regular gasoline and €1.571 for regular diesel”.
It is important to note that the efficient price “is a weekly average price estimated by the ERSE and results from the sum of the following components: fuel prices in international reference markets and their respective maritime freights, primary logistics including strategic and security reserves of the National Petroleum System, additional costs for the incorporation of biofuels, and the retail component plus the respective taxes”.
Regarding the previous week, the report states that “the average Public Sale Prices announced on the signs, and reported in the Energy Single Desk, were 3.1 cents per liter above the Efficient Price for that week, in the case of regular gasoline, and 5.7 cents higher in the case of regular diesel”.
In percentage terms, “regular gasoline was announced at 1.7% above the Efficient Price and regular diesel was announced at 3.5% above”, as reported by the ERSE report.
