Tesla was the best-selling brand in the passenger car market in the penultimate month of 2023, surprising by selling a total of 1765 vehicles, which represents an increase of 226.2% compared to the same period in 2022.
According to data released by the Portuguese Automobile Association (ACAP), in the 11 months of 2023, the American brand sold a total of 8146 units in the national market, an increase of 270.8% compared to the same period last year.
The second position was occupied by Mercedes-Benz, with 1333 units sold, which means 432 vehicles less than Tesla, while Dacia closed the top three with 1281 units.
BMW, with 1177 registered vehicles, occupied the fourth position, ahead of Peugeot, which occupied the fifth position with 994 units. However, the French brand strengthened its leadership in the national automotive market, with 23,936 passenger and light commercial vehicles sold between January and November, representing a market share of 11.5%, an increase of 0.2 percentage points compared to the same period in 2022.
