Jorge Martín will join Aprilia in MotoGP in 2025. While it is still unclear who his teammate will be, discussions continue about the Spaniard’s entry into the Noale-based team.
The #89 will replace Aleix Espargaró, who has a strong friendship with him. Given this, it’s believed that the veteran Spaniard, set to retire at the end of the year, might have had some influence on the decision.
Aprilia Racing’s CEO, Massimo Rivola, was asked about Espargaró’s role in Martín’s recruitment. In his answer, the Italian leader said:
– I’m thinking about a personal assistant job for Aleix with me [laughts]. […]. For sure he presented Aprilia in the way he lives Aprilia. So I think it was quite as Aleix is: just natural in the good things and in the bad things.
