In the beginning of the new year, Euro NCAP revealed the safest car of 2023, after conducting 17 safety tests throughout the previous year, a number far from the 70 tests conducted in 2022, which led the organization that certifies the safety of new vehicles in Europe to not disclose the best in each category, as has been the case in recent years.
It is certain that in 2023, the Euro NCAP tests have already been conducted based on new regulations that now include more child presence detection systems, specifications for vehicle submersion, as well as new technologies that detect – and respond to – the presence of motorcyclists and vulnerable road users.
Thus, the overall best performance of the year for Euro NCAP was achieved by the VW ID.7, despite the close distance that separated it from the NIO ET5, which achieved the second best score.
