YART Yamaha clinched victory on Saturday in the 8 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, a round of the Endurance World Championship (EWC). This result has made the championship more tense and balanced than ever, with YART Yamaha now just one point behind the leading Yoshimura SERT.
Karel Hanika, Marvin Fritz, and Nicolò Canepa piloted the Yamaha #1 in the Belgian race, outperforming the Yoshimura SERT team of Dan Linfoot, Étienne Masson, and Gregg Black by only 40.145 seconds. Even an extra pit stop for fuel did not prevent the YART Yamaha trio from claiming victory.
The podium was completed by Tati Team Beringer Racing with Corentin Perolari, Hugo Clere, and Randy Krummenacher. They were followed by F.C.C. TSR Honda France with Alan Techer, Joshua Hook, and Mike di Meglio, who led at one point despite starting issues. BMW Motorrad faced more severe problems, being forced to retire due to a recurring oil leak after a strong start.
Another Honda, Honda Viltaïs Racing, finished in the top five, with riders Florian Alt, Leandro Mercado, and Steven Odendaal. In seventh place, Team Aviobike by M2 Revo won in the Supersport category, with Francesco Cocco, Kevin Calia, and Luca Bernardi defeating the National Motos Honda FMA trio of Guillaume Raymond, Sébastien Suchet, and Valentin Suchet.
