In 2022, Fabio Di Giannantonio made his debut in MotoGP with Gresini, where he stayed for two seasons until last year. Now, he has joined the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team for 2024.
Both teams are Italian satellite teams with Ducati bikes in the previous year’s specification. However, the way of working and the approach are very different, as Di Giannantonio noted in an interview with MOW Mag:
– You feel that this is a team made of one rider. This team is made of Valentino Rossi. Here the approach that people have, in any area, is according to the instructions of a rider. Gresini, on the other hand, is a team built like a company, with its own values and guidelines. There, the rider has to join the team, as it always happens, while at VR46, you are at the center of the project and everything revolves a bit around you. I assume he made it the way he would have liked, and personally, I think all teams should have this approach.
In Di Giannantonio’s view, the way the rider is treated at VR46 is ideal: ‘Putting the rider at the center of attention and making them feel their best is, in my opinion, key to ensuring that the team’s efforts are rewarded’.
