Still without a team for next season, Fabio Di Giannantonio was in very good shape at Assen and is now being considered one of the most desirable targets and main assets on the market for 2025. Yamaha can be interested, just like Ducati, in keeping the rider in their ranks.
With most of the places on the grid for next season already filled, there are still some attractive places to be allocated, with some of these belonging to Ducati: at VR46 Racing Team, and at Gresini Racing. On the other hand, Yamaha will have two official motorcycles at its disposal at Pramac, and that is an exciting thing to take into account.
Currently wearing the colors of Valentino Rossi’s team, DiGia is one of the most consensus riders currently and Ducati really want to keep him in their structure, as Gigi Dall’Igna told SkySport: ‘He’s having a great season and probably , together with [Marc] Márquez, is the rider who best interprets last year’s bike – the Desmosedici GP23. The goal is to keep you on our teams. It will be difficult because it’s not just us, but the relationship with him is great and I hope we can do it’.
On the table will be the possibility of offering the most current version of the bike next year, regardless of the team for which it competes, and it is precisely something that Yamaha has on the table as well.
However, outside the Yamaha universe there is still Honda, which should remain with Joan Mir, Trackhouse (with factory bikes) – which apparently has Raúl Fernández practically safe, but there is still the Miguel Oliveira issue pending – at least what the future Pramac/Yamaha, with factory bikes, could be an option on the table and an asset for the Japanese manufacturer to try to seduce the Italian.
It is worth remembering that last year Di Giannantonio was practically ruled out of MotoGP, being the last rider to guarantee a place for 2024, he who, today, is eighth in the world championship.
