Competing at home, Fabio Quartararo tried everything to achieve a good result in front of the French fans at the MotoGP French GP. Despite the shortcomings of the Yamaha YZR-M1, he managed to fight in the top ten, finishing eighth in the Sprint race and maintaining a top-five position in the main race until he crashed on lap 17.
Despite being one of the best performances of the Monster Energy Yamaha team this season, Álex Rins isn’t impressed with what his teammate achieved in Le Mans. According to the Spanish rider, the problems persist, and the good results are still far away:
– Well, if you say, for me incredible results are the top positions. Fabio did great this weekend, but both of us still have the same problems. So I wouldn’t say that he did incredible results this weekend. We are going in the same direction, we are working to improve the bike, and that’s all.
Rins also spoke about the exchange of data with Quartararo: ‘For sure I’m looking at his data, he’s looking at my ones. I can see some points where I’m faster than him, some points where I’m slower than him. But we have a lot of room for improvement’.
